Acceptable Use Policy
This page is maintained by popped to set clear expectations for how our community interacts. By using popped, you agree to follow these rules and help keep the experience safe, respectful, and fun for everyone.
Who this policy applies to
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who accesses or uses the popped website, mobile web app, accounts, profiles, chat, payments, and any other feature we offer (collectively, the "Service"). It applies whether you are a free visitor, a paying subscriber, or an account holder.
If you do not agree with these rules, please do not use the Service.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for anything that happens under your account. Keep your login credentials private, use a strong password, and do not share access to your account with anyone else.
You must be at least 18 years old to use popped. Profiles representing minors, or accounts created on behalf of minors, are not allowed.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Service.
Prohibited conduct
To keep popped safe and welcoming, you may not:
- Create fake, misleading, or impersonating profiles, including catfishing or pretending to be another person or brand.
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, stalk, or abuse any other user.
- Send spam, unsolicited bulk messages, promotional material, phishing links, or malware.
- Post, share, or request sexually explicit, violent, hateful, discriminatory, or illegal content.
- Discriminate against or demean anyone based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
- Use the Service to solicit money, engage in sex work, promote escort services, or facilitate human trafficking.
- Scam, defraud, or deceive other users for financial gain or any other purpose.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service without authorization.
- Circumvent any security, access, or usage limits we put in place, including free-pop limits or subscription checks.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or fake engagement to manipulate matches, likes, ratings, or any other part of the Service.
Content you share
You retain ownership of the content you upload, such as photos, bios, voice memos, and messages. By sharing it on popped, you give us a limited license to display it as part of operating the Service.
You may only upload content that you have the right to share. Do not upload photos or information of other people without their consent, and do not upload copyrighted material unless you have permission.
Public-facing content — including profile photos, names, bios, and AI rating badges — must be appropriate for a general dating audience. We may remove content that violates these standards without notice.
Enforcement and account actions
We reserve the right to investigate any conduct or content that we believe violates this policy. Depending on the severity and context, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Remove or hide offending content, photos, or profiles.
- Issue a warning to the account holder.
- Suspend or permanently ban the account.
- Report illegal activity or threats of harm to appropriate law enforcement or authorities.
- Refuse refunds or terminate subscriptions associated with violating accounts.
We aim to enforce these rules fairly and consistently, but we make enforcement decisions at our sole discretion based on the information available to us.
Reporting violations
If you see something that violates this policy, please report it. You can use the in-app report or block tools on profiles and messages, or contact us directly by email.
When reporting, please include as much detail as possible — usernames, screenshots, dates, and a description of what happened — so we can review the issue quickly.
